VR UI Shaders, “MasterWorks”
MasterWorks: Journey Through History is an educational digital tourism experience taking users to 3D scanned locations around the world. Originally for the Samsung GearVR headset, it was likely to be many people’s first experience with VR. With comfort and performance in mind I took lead on UI implementation.
Teleportation
We wanted a teleportation UI that would not obscure the environment except when needed, and would apparate in a non-jarring way.
Scene Change
An experiment to focus users on a single object for closer inspection, and to move them between scenes without a sharp “pop”.
